This page explains what information Sunset Marina Key West (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit sunsetmarinakw.com or contact us through it, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What you send us
When you use the contact form or ask our chat assistant to have the marina follow up, we receive the details you type in: your name, email address, phone number, the kind of enquiry and any details about your vessel and dates. These details are emailed to the marina team so we can answer you. We use them only to respond to your enquiry and to arrange dockage or other services you ask about.
Where you came from
To understand which of our listings and advertising actually help boaters find us, each enquiry also includes a short note on how you reached the website: for example a Google search, a Google ad, a Facebook or Instagram ad, a link from another site, or typing the address. This note is built from the web address and the page that sent you, and it is stored in your browser for up to 90 days.
Chat assistant
Questions you type into the “Ask Sunset Marina” chat are sent to an artificial intelligence service so it can write an answer. Please don’t type sensitive personal information into the chat. The conversation is kept in your own browser so it is still there if you move between pages; we do not store chat conversations on our server. We keep only daily totals, such as how many questions were asked.
Phone calls
If you reach the website from a Google ad, the phone number shown may be a Google forwarding number that connects straight to the marina. Google then tells us that a call happened, how long it lasted and the caller’s area code. Google does not record the call.
Cookies and similar tools
The website uses the following:
- Google Analytics: counts visits and shows which pages are used, so we can improve the website.
- Google Ads: tells us when an enquiry or call followed a click on one of our Google ads, and lets us show our ads to people who have visited the website.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram): tells us when an enquiry followed one of our Facebook or Instagram ads, and lets us show our ads to people who have visited the website.
- Site performance: a page cache that makes the website load faster. It does not identify you.
These services may set cookies and receive information such as your browser type, the pages you view and an approximate location based on your internet address. Google and Meta handle that information under their own privacy policies.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website still works without them.
- You can change how Google uses information for ads at adssettings.google.com, and stop Google Analytics in your browser with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- You can manage ads on Facebook and Instagram in your Meta ad preferences.
- You can ask us what information we hold about you from an enquiry, or ask us to delete it, using the contact details below.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the website and deliver its email, analytics and advertising, and when the law requires it.
Children
The website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
